It is the best tool for clearing formatting!<\/p>\n<p>For example, copying text from a webpage to Word will often keep the formatting (color, size and so on) but copying it to Notepad first and then re-copying it to the other editor clears the formatting completely.<\/p>\n<p>I call this &#8220;The Notepad Trick&#8221; and I use it all the time so I thought it would be a good idea to pay homage to good ol&#8217; Notepad.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a direct copy between two Google Docs documents:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davidlebech.com\/thoughtflow\/wp-content\/uploads\/notepad_trick1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/davidlebech.com\/thoughtflow\/wp-content\/uploads\/notepad_trick1-300x249.png\" alt=\"Google Docs copy text\" width=\"300\" height=\"249\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1001\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davidlebech.com\/thoughtflow\/wp-content\/uploads\/notepad_trick1-300x249.png 300w, https:\/\/davidlebech.com\/thoughtflow\/wp-content\/uploads\/notepad_trick1-150x124.png 150w, https:\/\/davidlebech.com\/thoughtflow\/wp-content\/uploads\/notepad_trick1.png 611w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Notice how the headline is the same size. Sometimes one might not want this.
