The big fish eat the little ones

You can try the best you can
If you try the best you can
The best you can is good enough

Yes, I have been optimistic this term. But finals are drawing near, big project deadlines are closing in and stress is slowly building up so the optimism is fading. It is the same every term and I am getting tired of it.

During the first week of the term I set two goals for myself for the rest of year:

  1. Have every evening off from school.
  2. Go out of town or do something non-school related at least one day every week.

Hmm, that is almost audacious, I thought to myself. So how did that go? Pretty well, actually. During the first 8 weeks of the term, I’ve been on two day-hikes and a weekend trip to Seattle along with the essential Halloween weekend of course (some pictures below). There has definitely been a lot of evenings at school but I did not really expect anything else.

Things are different this year. It feels like time is passing faster, my departure is steadily approaching and it is almost Christmas — again. On the other hand, last year’s icicle sword fight, Portland adventures and Northwest blizzard seem ages ago. I never really understood time.

More pictures can be seen on my Flickr page.
